Translation or Localization? II

Last week I touched on localization and how it can benefit a business. This week I want to further explain the benefits of localization.

Yes, localization uses proper local formats. Yes, it is adapting graphics to target markets and using local currencies or units of measure. More importantly, localization is different from translating your website into just French or just Spanish. It’s providing a platform for the other 6.5 billion people who don’t speak English. Why localize? Because 89% of the people on Earth speaks something else besides English. When you localize you are providing a suite of languages into a range of target markets. By using just 5 other major languages you can increase your potential market by 350%.

If you are not localizing… you are missing out.
