Translation or Localization?

Good morning!

A client who is selling global shipping products contacted me about translating his website. I assured him we could translate the text. However, I asked him if he had considered localizing the website. Localization is the process of adapting a product or content to a specific locale or market. A business that would like to reach the international audience with its website should be able to answer the following questions:

Is your website available in multiple languages? Are the graphics adapted to the target market? Is the content modified to suit the tastes and consumption habits of the other market? Are addresses, phone numbers, dates, currencies and units of measure used in proper local formats?

A localization expert can help businesses to give their products the feel and look of having been created specifically for a target market.

Localization is so much more than translation.

Have you made your choice?
